Agenda

18:15 - Welcome by the chair

18:20 - GP to clinical and cosmetic dermatology practice

So how did Dr Thuva Amuthan go from GP training to running his own practice? Dermatology is hardly given justice during training.

  • Even if you seek out knowledge clinical dermatology taught today primarily deals with pathology
  • Procedures of Limited Clinical Value (PLCV) have meant that most day-to-day benign lesions are no longer treated on the NHS
  • Demand for the perfect skin is on the up including treatment for pigmentation disorders, acne and ageing.

This leaves a gap in training for most. Gaining this knowledge and competence is an ongoing challenge for most of us. Come along to find out how Dr Thuva Amuthan navigated this challenge and the lessons learnt on his journey.

19:00 - Questions and answers

19:20 - Dinner: HALAL food. The agenda is subject to change to facilitate those breaking their fasts on time.

 20:00 - Close
